For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract A rewarding contract opportunity is available for experienced Special Education Teachers seeking to make a positive difference in the lives of students.

Two positions are currently open:

one in an elementary self-contained classroom (K-2, mild intervention) and one at the middle school level (intense interventions). The classrooms are structured with manageable class sizes—8-10 students in the elementary room and 8 students in the middle school room—allowing for personalized instruction and genuine relationship building.

Key Qualifications:

Valid Special Education Teacher licensure required Previous experience with self-contained classrooms is preferred Demonstrated ability to adapt curriculum to meet individual student needs Strong classroom management and organizational skills Compassion, patience, and commitment to inclusive educational practices Effective communication with students, families, and interdisciplinary team members
