Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in a self-contained classroom, working with learners with mild disabilities. This full-time contract position offers the chance to work hands-on onsite, building relationships and facilitating growth for middle school students. The role encompasses 35 hours per week, providing a consistent and structured environment for both you and your students from now through December 18, 2026.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid and active Indiana teaching license in Special Education (must provide screenshot as proof) Previous experience teaching students with mild disabilities preferred Ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt lessons to various learning styles Strong classroom management and communication skills Passion for fostering inclusive, supportive learning spaces Commitment to full onsite work
Key Responsibilities:
Teach and manage a self-contained classroom for middle school students with mild exceptionalities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to each student's needs and goals Maintain detailed documentation, progress reports, and compliance with IEP requirements Work collaboratively within the school setting with staff and family members Create a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment that encourages student growth and independence
