Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in a vibrant junior high setting near Shelbyville, IN. This full-time position (Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week) offers an engaging role in special education, working alongside dedicated professionals to help students reach their fullest potential.
There are two available positions:
Resource Classroom:
Manage a caseload of approximately 25-30 students with mild intervention needs.
Essential Classroom:
Work with about 10 students requiring intense intervention support. Both roles require a valid Indiana teaching license with appropriate certification (mild or intense intervention).

Valid Indiana teaching license in Special Education (mild and/or intense intervention, depending on position) Experience or passion for working with middle school students in a special education environment Strong communication, advocacy, and organizational skills Flexibility to adapt daily, as class schedules or room assignments may be adjusted Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive atmosphere for all students Primary responsibilities: Develop and deliver differentiated instruction based on IEPs Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and families Monitor and document student progress, making adjustments to programming as needed Create a nurturing and structured learning environment Ensure compliance with all state and federal special education requirements Youll be working from roughly 8:20 AM3:10 PM, with a supportive team dedicated to student success.
