Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact by supporting students' diverse learning needs in a dynamic educational environment. This full-time, onsite contract role offers the opportunity to serve students at both a middle and high school level for the upcoming academic year. Two positions are available to join teams committed to fostering inclusive classroom experiences. Your expertise in special education will help guide students toward success by developing individualized education plans tailored for their unique strengths and challenges. Each day presents a chance to collaborate with dedicated educators and positively influence young learners' achievements.
Qualifications & Experience:
Active Kansas Special Education license (required) Experience developing and implementing IEPs for middle and/or high school students Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school staff Ability to support a variety of learning needs within inclusive and pull-out settings Knowledge of current special education laws, practices, and assistive technology
Key Responsibilities:
Design, modify, and deliver instruction based on individual student IEPs Collect and analyze student data to inform progress and adjust teaching strategies Collaborate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families Maintain timely documentation and participate in IEP meetings Foster a positive, supportive classroom climate to promote student growth Provide direct, indirect, and consultative services as outlined in IEPs This role will immerse you in multiple school communities and empower you to shape positive educational outcomes.
