Job Description

Make a lasting impact in the lives of students by taking on a pivotal role as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic school setting located near Tonganoxie, KS. This full-time contract opportunity, running through late May 2027, offers you the chance to work onsite in a supportive environment, dedicated to fostering a positive learning atmosphere for students with a variety of needs. Three distinct positions are open, each focused on serving a unique group of learners at the same location: Middle School Special Education Teacher supporting students with emotional disabilities Middle School Special Education Teacher guiding students requiring functional/life skills instruction Elementary Special Education Teacher assisting students with emotional disabilities Ideal candidates should bring passion, adaptability, and a dedication to empowering students to reach their fullest potential.
Preferred Qualifications:
Current Kansas Special Education Certification (KS SPED Cert) required Experience teaching students with emotional and/or behavioral challenges and/or functional/life skills needs Strong classroom management skills and ability to adapt instruction to varied learning styles Excellent communication and organizational abilities Collaborative spirit for working alongside other educators and support staff
Key Responsibilities:
