Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by supporting their academic and personal growth in a collaborative educational environment. This contract opportunity is designed for passionate Special Education Teachers, with immediate openings through 5/27/27. Each position is based onsite at a single location, ensuring connection and consistency in your work with students and staff.
There are three available roles:
Middle School Teacher for students with emotional disabilities Middle School Teacher for students with functional and life skills needs Elementary School Teacher for students with emotional disabilities
Desired Qualifications:
Current Kansas Special Education Certification (KS SPED Cert) required Experience working with students with emotional disabilities and/or functional/life skills needs preferred Strong communication and teamwork skills to engage with students, families, and colleagues Ability to develop, implement, and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Your Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction tailored to meet the diverse learning needs of students in special education Create and maintain comprehensive lesson plans and progress reports aligned with IEP goals Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including general education teachers, therapists, and administrators Manage classroom behavior using evidence-based strategies that cultivate a positive and respectful learning community Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs Maintain accurate records and adhere to district, state, and federal guidelines If you are passionate, skilled, and ready to make a difference, seize the chance to contribute your expertise in an engaging and rewarding setting.
