Job Description

Make a difference in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive school setting. This contract opportunity offers valuable hands-on experience, working closely with students with a range of unique needs at one convenient location. Multiple positions are available, including roles supporting middle school students with emotional disabilities, middle school students with functional/life skills needs, and elementary students with emotional disabilities. This is an onsite, full-time role ensuring you can form meaningful connections and offer consistent support.
Qualifications & Experience:
Active Kansas Special Education Certification required Experience working with students with emotional disabilities and/or functional/life skills (preferred) Strong communication and collaboration skills for teaming with staff, administrators, and families Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and evaluations Ability to create a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment Commitment to fostering inclusion and maximizing student success
Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborate with school staff to develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Create lesson plans tailored to student goals and abilities Employ a variety of instructional strategies to support learning and skill development Adapt classroom materials and routines to meet the diverse needs of students Promote social, emotional, and academic growth Communicate regularly with caregivers and school professionals regarding student progress Maintain accurate and timely documentation as required This is a fantastic chance to utilize your skills, inspire growth, and contribute to a collaborative educational team.
