A middle school classroom supporting students with emotional disabilities A middle school classroom focusing on students with functional and life skills needs An elementary setting working with students with emotional disabilities What were looking for: Active Kansas Special Education Teaching Certification (KS SPED Cert) is required Experience in one or more of the following areas: emotional/behavioral disabilities or functional/life skills instruction Positive, adaptable attitude and collaborative approach to working with school teams and families Strong commitment to individualizing learning and creating positive classroom experiences Ability to implement IEPs and maintain comprehensive documentation Skills in behavior intervention strategies preferred Role responsibilities: Provide instruction tailored to each students IEP and abilities Develop engaging, supportive lesson plans to address academic, emotional, and functional goals Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and administrators Foster a safe and encouraging classroom culture Communicate regularly with families and team members about progress, challenges, and strategies Support students in developing social, academic, and life skills for greater independence This contract runs until May 27, 2027, with a consistent 37.5-hour weekly schedule and all teaching taking place onsite in a supportive environment.
