Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic PreK Teacher to inspire young learners during their foundational years. In this vital role, you will create a nurturing and engaging classroom environment that promotes early childhood development, literacy, social skills, and curiosity. Your enthusiasm for teaching young children will help foster a love of learning, support individual growth, and prepare students for future academic success. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans that align with early childhood education standards and incorporate literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods where applicable Create a warm, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and social interaction Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement strategies and effective behavior management techniques Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share student progress, discuss developmental milestones, and address individual needs Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to monitor child development and tailor instruction accordingly Plan engaging lessons that incorporate child development principles, early intervention strategies, and age-appropriate activities Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate records of student progress and incidents Requirements Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings; prior classroom experience is highly valued Strong knowledge of childhood development, early intervention techniques, and preschool teaching methodologies including Montessori approaches Ability to develop curriculum content that supports literacy education, math skills, physical education, and social-emotional learning Familiarity with behavior management strategies and classroom management best practices Excellent communication skills for effective parent communication and collaboration with colleagues Certification in first aid and CPR; knowledge of child welfare policies is preferred Experience with special education needs or working with children requiring additional support is a plus Demonstrated ability to plan lessons effectively, adapt to diverse learning styles, and foster a positive learning environment Join us in shaping the future by nurturing the potential of every young learner!
