This contract opportunity invites skilled professionals to utilize their specialized expertise, helping ensure every student's full participation and access to a rich curriculum. Ideal candidates possess a strong background in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education, demonstrating both content knowledge and a familiarity with assistive technology, visual communication strategies, and individualized instruction. A commitment to advocacy for student needs and a collaborative approach with faculty, families, and related service providers is highly valued.

Desired Qualifications:

Valid state certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education Experience working with K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Knowledge of Deaf culture and current best practices in the field Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver direct instruction to students with hearing differences, adapting lessons for individualized needs Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum materials and create accessible learning experiences Utilize various teaching methodologies and technological supports Participate in IEP meetings; assess and document student progress, adjusting goals as necessary Serve as a resource to school staff and families, providing information on strategies to support D/HH learners Cultivate an inclusive, supportive atmosphere that empowers students In this role, you'll have the chance to impact educational outcomes, working closely with a dedicated team while enjoying the structure of a contract position.
