Educational Diagnostician Special Education Teacher in Gretna, LA

Job Description

Step into a dynamic school-based setting as an Educational Diagnostician, supporting students and teachers through expert assessment and guidance. This full-time, contract opportunity is designed for dedicated professionals energized by meaningful work and the chance to make a lasting difference. Candidates will work 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, following the school calendar, with a daily 30-minute lunch break.
Key Qualifications:
Active Louisiana DOE Certification (required) Demonstrated background as an Educational Diagnostician Experience working in school environments supporting diverse student populations Ability to perform comprehensive educational assessments and contribute to educational planning Strong communication skills for collaboration with faculty, families, and external partners Flexibility and readiness to adapt to assignments across multiple campuses as needed Capacity to pass required district credentialing, including a separate drug screening and fingerprinting process
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments and evaluations to develop student educational plans Interpret results to inform instruction and support strategies for students of varying age groups (specific caseload and age groups to be determined upon assignment) Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to create targeted recommendations and interventions Maintain clear, organized documentation in compliance with local and state requirements Participate in school meetings to advocate for effective, evidence-based practices
