This contract opportunity runs full-time, 35 hours per week Monday through Friday, aligning with the school calendar for the academic year. As an itinerant special education teacher, youll collaborate directly with non-certified educators, helping create successful and inclusive learning environments throughout the district.

Responsibilities:

Rotate between school sites within the district, providing direct support to special education classrooms Assist non-certified teachers in developing and implementing effective instructional strategies Guide and contribute to IEP writing, progress monitoring, and data collection to ensure compliance and student growth Offer consultation and hands-on assistance on classroom management and differentiated instruction Maintain diligent records and reports to support student success and school initiatives Collaborate with school staff and administration regarding best practices for special education

Qualifications Sought:

Active Louisiana Department of Education certification with special education endorsement (required; no alternative or temporary credentials accepted) Experience with IEP development, instructional adaptations, and data-driven teaching for students with exceptionalities Ability to work flexibly as an itinerant staff member and manage time across multiple campuses Strong organizational and communication skills Willingness to complete all pre-employment screenings, including drug test, fingerprints, and background check If youre a passionate, certified special education teacher ready to travel between schools to support your peers and students, this is your chance to make a difference.
