Diagnostician Special Education Teacher | Metairie, Louisiana

Job Description

Step into a vital role supporting students success by providing expert educational assessment services in a vibrant, collaborative school district near Metairie, LA. This full-time contract opportunity is ideal for certified Educational Diagnosticians who are ready to make a difference, working alongside educators and families to create thoughtful, data-driven educational plans. As an Educational Diagnostician, youll be an essential resource for evaluating and supporting students across various campuses (assignments determined upon placement). This position follows the school calendar, offering a consistent Monday through Friday schedule7 hours daily, plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
Key Qualifications:
Current and active Louisiana Department of Education Educational Diagnostician Certification (required) Previous experience in K-12 educational settings preferred Ability to perform comprehensive evaluations and interpret data for diverse age groups Willingness and eligibility to complete district-specific credentialing, including a separate drug screen and fingerprinting Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with staff, families, and administration Ready for immediate placement (no licensing delays)
Core Duties:
Conduct educational and diagnostic assessments to identify students individual needs Develop, interpret, and guide individualized education plans (IEPs) Collaborate with educators, school psychologists, and support staff Document assessment results; maintain compliance with state and district standards Provide recommendations and strategies for instruction and intervention
