Desired Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting Strong knowledge of various communication methods, including American Sign Language (ASL), spoken language, and assistive technology Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills Adaptability and passion for fostering an inclusive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver instruction tailored to the unique needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing within inclusive and specialized settings Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to support student learning and integration Assess students progress, modify lesson plans, and implement strategies as needed Advocate for student accommodations and accessibility within the educational framework Maintain accurate documentation and participate in meetings related to student progress and IEP development Serve as an educational resource for staff, students, and families regarding hearing loss and effective teaching techniques Take your teaching career in a rewarding direction, making a lasting difference for students and their families.
