Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting middle school students with emotional and moderate-to-severe needs. This full-time contract position offers a chance to make a meaningful difference in a therapeutic, substantially separate classroom, where you'll benefit from a low student-to-staff ratio and ongoing support from a dedicated BCBA and RBT team. Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Massachusetts teaching license in Moderate or Severe Disabilities Experience in ABA or therapeutic classroom environments preferred Demonstrated ability to support students with significant emotional and behavioral needs Strong communication skills for working closely with families, school staff, and interdisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized academic instruction tailored to support each student's strengths and challenges Write, implement, and monitor IEPs, handle case management, and conduct ongoing assessments Oversee registered behavior technicians (RBTs) and paraprofessionals within the classroom Collaborate with the BCBA, related service providers, and families to align academic and behavioral programming Foster a safe, engaging environment that supports both academic progress and social-emotional development
