Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity as a high school special education teacher with a full-time commitment for the academic year. You'll play a key role in fostering growth, independence, and confidence in your students while working in a collaborative, supportive environment. As a Special Education Teacher, you will: Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's strengths and needs Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to students' diverse learning styles Monitor and assess student progress, regularly communicating with families and support staff Foster positive relationships with students while maintaining an inclusive classroom environment Provide support and guidance to paraprofessionals assigned to your classroom Participate in IEP meetings, faculty meetings, and professional development opportunities Maintain accurate records in compliance with school, district, and regulatory requirements We're seeking candidates with: Valid teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility) Previous experience working with high school-aged students preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills A passion for empowering students with special needs The ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families This contract position offers the confidence of guaranteed hours for the entire school year, ensuring stability alongside competitive pay.
