Teacher is a cornerstone of Lawrence Public Schools. As aSPED MOD
Teacher, your area of expertise will be used to enrich the academic lives of the students at Frost Middle School.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Take responsibility to be a strong, positive force daily in their classroom - consistently and thoughtfully motivate students to work hard and want to learn.
- Design, implement, and collaborate around high-quality shared curricula that incorporate research-based strategies to help students master Massachusetts and Common Core standards.
- Motivate students to reach high achievement by setting class-wide and individual goals and provide specific and actionable feedback to students on their progress towards academic goals.
- Build supportive working relationships with fellow teachers, associate teachers, and staff, and provide regular feedback to help develop associate teachers.
- Other responsibilities as needed and assigned by administration.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Prior experience teaching in this area preferred.
- Ability to implement a safe, purposeful classroom environment that prioritizes learning for all students.
- Ability to collaborate with other teachers, instructional leaders, and partners to ensure instruction is meeting the needs of all students.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Massachusetts Teacher Certification in appropriate area.
- Proficient in English.
- Bachelor's Degree Required
