Position Summary:

School for Exceptional Studies is seeking a dedicated Crisis Paraprofessional to support students with special education needs, particularly in grades 9 and 10. This role focuses on the development of the whole child-academically, socially, and emotionally-by implementing individualized supports, behavior interventions, and inclusive practices in both general and specialized classroom settings.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day support for special education students
• Implement strategies to support the development of the whole child
• Manage student behavior, particularly within substantially separate classroom settings
• Support the implementation and progress monitoring of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate with students, families, and staff to ensure IEP goals are met
• Participate in meetings related to IEP development and student progress
• Support delivery of high-quality curriculum that aligns with IEP goals
• Apply proactive, positive behavior management systems
• Collect and analyze behavioral data to inform support strategies
• Promote and assist in the inclusion of students into general education settings
• Maintain regular communication with stakeholders to support student needs

Qualifications & Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate's degree or ParaPro certification preferred
• At least one year of experience working with students with disabilities
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
• Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate certifications, if required
