Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make a lasting impact in the lives of students by using your expertise as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. A contract opportunity is available for a skilled professional to provide part-time support within a collaborative district environment. The position runs from ASAP through March 2026, with potential for extension as the district's needs evolve. You'll enjoy flexibility in your weekly schedule—ideally 10-15 hours—and have influence over your assigned age groups and school locations based on your preferences. In this valuable role, you'll partner with a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf to ensure all students with hearing loss receive the support they need across the district.
Qualifications and Experience:
Current Massachusetts Teacher of the Deaf teaching certificate required Professional experience supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills Ability to adapt instruction to meet student needs and preferences Comfortable managing caseloads and documentation Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction and support services to deaf and hard of hearing students across assigned schools Collaborate with the district's full-time Teacher of the Deaf to coordinate caseloads and service delivery Consult regularly with educators, families, and related service providers to develop and implement effective learning strategies Monitor student progress, maintain records, and participate in IEP meetings Advocate for student access, accommodations, and inclusive classroom practices Enjoy the flexibility to tailor your role and schedule while making a meaningful difference for students and school communities.
