This full-time contract position is perfect for professionals passionate about creating structured, supportive environments for students with severe cognitive and physical disabilities. Youll play a critical role in making each day meaningful for students in K-1st and 3rd-5th grade rooms, some of whom are on the spectrum or non-verbal, and will work alongside RBTs and supportive staff.
Qualifications and Experience Sought:
Valid state teaching credentials in Special Education Background working with students with significant cognitive and physical disabilities Experience with applied behavior analysis and specially designed instruction highly preferred Comfort and proficiency supporting students with complex needs, including those who require toileting assistance Skilled in collaborating with classroom aides, RBTs, and related service providers Strong communication and documentation abilities
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver individualized instruction based on IEP goals Adapt curriculum to meet diverse learning and developmental needs Foster a positive, engaging, and safe classroom community Implement behavioral strategies and work closely with behavioral staff Manage daily tasks including toileting and personal care for students as necessary Collaborate with caregivers, related service providers, and paraprofessionals Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and comply with all reporting requirements
