Qualifications:
  • Appropriate MA license as a Special Education Teacher
  • Experience with specialized reading programs preferred
  • Knowledgeable about Common Core State Standards
  • Must possess working knowledge of Massachusetts and federal special education regulations
  • Experience working with students with disabilities
  • Working knowledge of educational and office technology
  • Organized & flexible
Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct specialized instruction per students' IEPs
  • Conduct educational assessments, write reports, present at IEP team meetings
  • Write IEP goals/objectives
  • Monitor student progress using data to drive instructional decision-making
  • Write IEP progress reports
  • Supervise paraprofessionals
  • Actively participate in IEP meetings
  • Scheduling for inclusion / pullout and paraprofessionals
  • Familiarity with positive behavior interventions and supports
  • Write effective lesson plans to coincide with goals and objectives
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well with students, staff and parents
  • Collaborate with coworkers and administration
  • Be a positive role model for students
