This contract opportunity for a Teacher of the Visually Impaired offers an inspiring chance to provide essential services as part of a dedicated team of professionals. You'll work collaboratively with a team including five experienced TVIs and an Orientation/Mobility specialist, ensuring a well-supported setting. The role involves serving a cluster of schools, providing tailored vision services guided by students' IEPs.
Qualifications and Credentials:
Valid teaching certification in Visual Impairment Relevant state licensure for teaching students with visual impairments Experience working with students in a school-based setting preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills Passion for fostering independence and accessibility for students
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction and vision services as outlined in student IEPs Collaborate with classroom teachers, staff, and families to implement best practices Adapt curriculum and materials for accessibility Travel between assigned schools to meet student needs Maintain thorough documentation and progress reports This contract starts August 31, 2026 and offers a consistent weekday schedule of 37.5 hours over five days weekly.
