Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available, focusing on supporting students with Emotional Impairment. This role involves working with a caseload of 12 students, sharing four students with local high schools. Classroom sizes will be small, with no more than eight students present at any time, depending on attendance. The environment provides para support to assist in daily classroom activities and student engagement.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with emotional impairment Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment to support social and academic growth Collaborate with paraeducators and other staff to deliver effective instruction and support Communicate regularly with families, colleagues, and external professionals to monitor progress and address student needs Manage behavioral challenges in a supportive, non-physical context
Qualifications:
Valid Emotional Impairment certification Experience teaching special education, particularly students with emotional impairments Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to student behavioral and academic challenges Commitment to fostering a safe and nurturing learning environment
