MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
: 1. A bachelor's degree from an accredited university. 2. A validMichiganteacher's certificate with an endorsement in Cognitively Impaired (CI). 3. Demonstrable knowledge of adolescent growth and development. 4. Knowledge of behavior management. 5. Knowledge of data gathering and charting techniques. 6. Willingness to participate in all phases of the instructional program. 7. Crisis Prevention Institute certification or willingness to obtain. 8. Ability to provide leadership to paraprofessionals by communication, demonstration, and example. 9. Ability to provide instruction to students on use and safety precautions of tools, machinery, basic repairs, and cleaning products. 10. Must pass criminal background check as required by School Safety Legislation.RESPONSIBILITIES SHALL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO
1. Plan curriculum for all assigned students, with assistance of other professional staff and administrator approval. 2. Direct paraprofessionals responsible to the teacher in their classroom duties. 3. Establish instructional and behavioral objectives for students; update objectives periodically to see that skills are being acquired. Send progress reports home quarterly. 4. Analyze and chart skills of students. 5. Establish behavior interventions in accordance with school policies and Center Programs Procedures and Guidelines on Behavior Management. 6. Willingness to develop novel work site experiences on campus. 7. Maintain records of all supplies, equipment, and projects. 8. Order supplies and equipment for assigned classroom, with administrator approval. 9.
