Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a Resource classroom setting. Two positions are available one in an elementary school and one in a middle school. Candidates are invited to specify their preference. This placement spans from ASAP through June 10, 2027 (tentative), providing stability with a weekly commitment of 35 hours. Youll provide direct and consultative special education services to students in resource classrooms. The elementary caseload consists of 10 students; the middle school caseload consists of 11 students. Expect a collaborative environment committed to helping every learner thrive.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Michigan Special Education Teacher Certificationplease be ready to submit documentation. Experience in resource settings preferred. Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse student needs. Strong collaboration and communication skills with staff, students, and families. Flexibility and passion for supporting K-8 age learners. Previous experience with similar age groups and caseload sizes is desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction and support to assigned caseload. Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with state guidelines. Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers. Communicate regularly with families to share progress and strategies. Foster a supportive, inclusive environment where students achieve their goals. Participate in professional development as required.
