Job Description

A unique opportunity awaits for a dedicated Special Education Teacher eager to make a difference at the high school level. This contract position, located near Marshall, MI, runs from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027, with a consistent full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. You'll be working exclusively onsite in an ASD classroom, surrounded by colleagues who share your commitment to providing specialized support and fostering student growth. Qualifications Possession of an active Michigan Special Education License, or eligibility to obtain one prior to start. Prior experience in a special education setting, preferably at the high school level and/or with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Ability to collaborate well with teachers, support staff, and families. Strong commitment to individualized instruction, classroom management, and student advocacy. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Creativity, flexibility, and a team-oriented mindset. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students in the ASD classroom. Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and ensure equitable access to curriculum. Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment. Work collaboratively with general education teachers and ancillary staff to support student success. Regularly assess student progress and communicate updates to families and team members. Maintain accurate records and uphold all compliance requirements as specified by law and district policy.
