Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, supporting students in resource classrooms across both elementary and middle school levels. Two positions are available to serve students in a collaborative and enriching environment. Let us know your preference for elementary or middle school to best match your expertise with the caseload. Youll play a vital role in guiding students to achieve academic and personal growth within supportive Athens area schools. Your day-to-day will involve working closely with a small resource caseload10 students at the elementary level and 11 at the middle schoolallowing for meaningful, individualized teaching moments.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Active and valid Michigan Special Education Teacher certification (please provide verification upon applying) Strong background in creating and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) Proven history empowering students in resource settings Effective communication and collaborative skills when working with teachers, staff, and families Experience in elementary and/or middle school settings preferred; please specify your classroom preference
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging resource instruction tailored to each students IEP goals Maintain rigorous data tracking and regular progress reports Adapt lesson plans to meet diverse learning needs Collaborate with classroom teachers and support personnel to foster inclusive educational growth Communicate proactively with families to support student success Support a positive and consistent classroom environment This contract position offers a schedule of approximately 35 hours weekly, running through the end of the 2026-2027 academic year.
