Job Description

Make a meaningful impact as a contract Special Education Teacher serving resource classrooms in dedicated elementary and middle school settings. This opportunity spans two supportive school communities, offering two sought-after positions and the flexibility to specify your preferred age group. Key Qualifications:
Valid Michigan Special Education teaching license (active and in good standing) Experience working with elementary and/or middle school resource programs Ability to manage individualized caseloads (approx. 10 elementary or 11 middle school students) Strong communication and collaboration abilities with colleagues, staff, and families Dedicated to fostering an inclusive, adaptive learning atmosphere
Role Responsibilities:
Provide resource support and specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Collaborate with general educators, support staff, and families to tailor instructional strategies Track student progress, maintain comprehensive records, and contribute to multidisciplinary meetings Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student growth Choose from two inviting locations: one based in a vibrant elementary school and another in an energetic middle school. Schedules run from 7:55 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. at the elementary level and from 7:35 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. at the middle school. Each position covers 35 hours per week, providing a structured yet supportive workweek. This contract runs from ASAP through June 10, 2027 (tentative), granting you the opportunity for lasting professional impact.
