Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students and educators in a contract Special Education Teacher role in the Westland area. This opportunity offers three full-time positions, each focused on a different age group: early learning elementary, middle school, and high school. The school year assignment runs from August 31, 2026, through June 4, 2027.

Key Qualifications:

Active Michigan teaching certification with a Special Education endorsement, required (please ensure your certification details are included with your application) Experience working in elementary, middle, or high school special education settings is highly valued Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams Flexible, solution-oriented approach to supporting students with diverse needs Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver individualized learning plans and instruction tailored to meet diverse educational needs Modify curriculum and teaching techniques to accommodate students' learning styles and abilities Maintain accurate student records, including progress monitoring and IEP documentation Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success Participate in IEP meetings, team conferences, and professional development Maintain compliance with all state and federal education guidelines
