9686177-55330 Job Description Make a meaningful difference in the lives of elementary students by supporting their growth and learning as a special education teacher in a center-based classroom for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract opportunity offers the chance to build strong relationships with a small, close-knit caseload while implementing specialized instruction tailored to individual needs.
Key Qualifications:
Current Minnesota PELSB Special Education Teaching License (Tier 1 or Tier 2 accepted; Tier 3 or Tier 4 preferred) Licensure in Emotional or Behavioral Disorders (EBD) required Experience developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for elementary students Deep understanding of best practices for supporting children with emotional and behavioral challenges Strong communication skills to collaborate with families, support staff, and related services Adaptable and organized, able to adjust instructional strategies as case numbers and student needs shift Passion for fostering a supportive, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
Role Responsibilities:
Serve a dedicated caseload of approximately 11 elementary-aged students in a center-based classroom (numbers may fluctuate with enrollment changes) Plan and deliver exceptional, differentiated instruction that aligns with each students IEP Monitor student progress and document outcomes, partnering with multidisciplinary teams for student success Foster a culture of respect, empathy, and inclusion for students with diverse needs Maintain open lines of communication with parents and guardians regarding student goals and progress Participate in required professional development and staff meetings This rewarding contract begins as soon as possible and continues through June 3, 2027, following a 40-hour workweek.
