Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful contract opportunity serving students with diverse needs at a well-established educational center near Elk River, MN. This position offers you the chance to make a powerful impact as a Special Education Teacher in a Setting 4 environment—the highest intensity level, supporting students from elementary through high school with significant behavioral and developmental challenges.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota Special Education Teacher license (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required) Experience working with students requiring Setting 4 support or similar high-needs populations preferred Strong classroom management skills and ability to implement individualized education programs Ability to foster a supportive, structured, and patient learning environment Effective communication skills, collaborating with fellow educators, students, and families Commitment to inclusive practices and cultural competence
Role Responsibilities:
Provide direct special education instruction for students with severe disabilities or behaviors, tailored to individual IEP goals Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan, implement, and monitor student progress Utilize various strategies and interventions to promote academic and behavioral success Maintain accurate educational documentation and participate in IEP meetings Create a safe and supportive classroom community for social, emotional, and educational growth Engage in professional development opportunities and adapt to evolving best practices This is a full-time contract role, running weekdays from August 25, 2026, through June 10, 2027.
