A Lakeville Area School District paraeducator's job description includes supporting students academically, socially, and behaviorally through one-on-one and small group work, implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and assisting teachers with classroom activities. Key duties include helping students with daily living skills, collecting data, implementing behavior plans, promoting positive interactions, and assisting with transitions, often requiring skills like de-escalation and sometimes assisting with restraints if required. Academic support 1. Support general and special education teachers in implementing academic programs. 2. Lead small groups, provide one-to-one follow-up, and help keep students on task. 3. Implement student-specific accommodations and adaptations as outlined in IEPs. 4. Provide feedback to teachers on student participation and progress in general education classes. 5. Collect student data as directed by the special education teacher.
