Job Description

Step into a dynamic contract opportunity supporting students and staff in a thriving school setting. We're seeking dedicated Special Education professionals to serve as Focus Teachers, filling several key roles across early childhood, elementary, and center-based programs. This position spans the 2026-2027 school year, with a variety of assignments including FMLA coverage at a middle school, resource support for 1st/2nd graders, and specialized roles addressing behavioral needs.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota teaching credential in Special Education (any area listed, including Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Disabilities, Early Childhood, Emotional Behavioral Disorders, Learning Disabilities, or Academic & Behavioral Strategist License) Proven ability to implement and monitor behavior plans Strong instructional capabilities tailored to diverse learning needs Experience with classroom structures, routines, and inclusive practices Excellent attendance and reliability track record Effective collaboration skills with special education and general education teams Experience in scheduling and leading paraprofessionals
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality SPED instruction based on individualized education plans Foster a structured, supportive environment for students with complex behavioral and academic needs Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to deliver cross-categorical specialized support, particularly with behavior-focused center-based programs Maintain detailed records and communication supporting each student's progress Adapt strategies to maximize student engagement and success Support and train paraprofessionals to ensure consistent program delivery This is an onsite role with a regular 37.5 hour work week, running from August 17, 2026 through June 3, 2027.
