Job Description

A rewarding opportunity awaits skilled Special Education Teachers with a passion for supporting students with developmental cognitive disabilities. In this full-time contract position, you'll work with kindergarten through second grade students in a welcoming elementary school environment. The assignment begins at the end of February and runs through early June 2027, providing a stable, engaging role where you can make a lasting impact. In this role, you'll provide individualized instruction to a caseload of approximately ten students, collaborating with colleagues and families to create the most supportive learning environment possible. Your expertise in special education will be highly valued as you help students build academic and life skills in a nurturing setting. The school day runs from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., giving you stable hours throughout the week.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching license for Minnesota Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher, particularly supporting K-2 students Expertise in working with students with developmental cognitive disabilities Ability to create and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Positive, compassionate approach to working with children and school staff
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement effective instructional strategies tailored to students' individual needs Conduct ongoing assessments and adjust teaching methods to ensure progress Work closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff Engage regularly with families to communicate student progress and foster partnerships Maintain accurate student records and compliance with state and district guidelines This contract offers the chance to foster meaningful growth in a small, supportive setting for young learners.
