What they do
A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description
- Valid State of Minnesota teaching license (required).
- Special Education teaching experience with exemplary performance.
- Special Education ABS Minnesota Licensure (preferred).
- Disposition and experience to create a learning-friendly atmosphere that breeds enthusiasm among fellow teachers and students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with community groups, parents, and the general public.
- Excellent organization and written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to contribute to a high functioning, positive school climate and culture. Personal Qualities

- A willingness to engage with the Rollingstone Community as a visible special education teacher of the community's children.

- Collaborate with faculty to manage student individual educational plans in accordance with special education expectations, protocols, and procedures.
