Job Description

Make an impact supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher focused on students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities. This full-time contract opportunity begins at the end of February and continues through early June 2027, providing a stable, rewarding position within an elementary setting. Working with approximately 10 students in grades K-2, you'll play a key role in fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teaching license, with experience or endorsement in Developmental Cognitive Disabilities preferred Demonstrated ability to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and adapt instruction for diverse learning needs Knowledge of curriculum modifications and assistive technologies for young children Strong collaboration skills for working alongside general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff Excellent communication skills to connect with families and team members Creativity, patience, and a commitment to nurturing every learner's growth
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction to a caseload of approximately 10 students in kindergarten through 2nd grade Assess student abilities, develop appropriate goals, and monitor progress through data-driven practices Modify and differentiate lessons to support each learner's cognitive, academic, and social development Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan and review IEPs Foster a safe, positive, and encouraging classroom community Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth and strategies for success Perks of the
