East Buchanan School District is seeking a dedicated Middle School and a High School Resource Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. These positions focus on supporting students with disabilities in grades 6-8 and 9-12 through individualized instruction, academic intervention, and collaboration with general education teachers to ensure student success. Key responsibilities include: Developing and implementing IEPs that support student growth and independence Providing specialized instruction in reading, writing, math, organization, and study skills Teaching executive functioning skills such as time management, task completion, self-advocacy, and goal setting Supporting students in accessing grade-level curriculum through accommodations and modifications Collaborating with teachers, families, and support staff to create inclusive learning opportunities Monitoring student progress and using data to guide instruction Preparing students for post-secondary success, including college, career, and independent living skills Promoting self-determination, confidence, and problem-solving skills The ideal candidate values strong relationships, high expectations, and student-centered practices while helping students develop the skills necessary to succeed in school and beyond.
