Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity to support students by serving as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing on a part-time contract basis. This role offers the chance to work across junior high and two elementary sites in the Ozark and Rogersville, MO area, bringing specialized instruction and advocacy to students who are deaf and hard of hearing.

Desired Qualifications:

Valid teaching certification with endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education Experience providing direct educational services to students with hearing loss, ideally in both elementary and junior high settings Strong understanding of auditory verbal strategies, sign language, and/or other communication methods for DHH students Proficiency in collaborating with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to implement IEP accommodations and modifications Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver individualized and group instruction to deaf and hard-of-hearing students, adapting curriculum to meet each learner's needs Assess student progress using both formal and informal tools, contributing to IEP development and progress monitoring Provide consultation and support for classroom teachers to foster accessible learning environments Facilitate self-advocacy, communication skills, and social-emotional growth among students Engage regularly with families to maintain a strong partnership in student success Travel between junior high and elementary schools as scheduled This position offers the flexibility of part-time hours, allowing you to balance professional duties with your personal commitments.
