Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelors degree (B.A.) required Current state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired Previous experience working with pediatric populations, especially in 1:1 environments, preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Commitment to fostering student independence and learning Flexibility to adapt instructional approaches as needed
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized education plans for students with visual impairments, ensuring learning goals are met and exceeded Assess student abilities and progress, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, families, and other educators to provide holistic support Adapt curriculum materials and classroom environments to maximize accessibility and engagement Serve as an advocate for students, ensuring a nurturing environment that supports academic and personal growth Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings, offering insight and recommendations for optimal student success
