A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for educating children and fostering their development. Duties
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with educational standards
  • Manage classroom activities and create a positive learning environment
  • Provide individualized instruction to students based on their learning needs
  • Utilize various teaching methods to engage students in the learning process
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Collaborate with parents, administrators, and other educators to support student learning Skills
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting
  • Proficiency in lesson planning and classroom management
  • Knowledge of special education practices and early intervention techniques
  • Ability to tutor students in various subjects
  • Familiarity with standardized testing procedures
  • Understanding of child welfare and development principles
  • Montessori or other alternative teaching method experience is a plus
