This full-time, onsite position is ideal for candidates passionate about delivering specialized instruction and advocating for students individual needs. As part of a collaborative school environment, youll play a crucial role in supporting a pediatric learners academic and personal development throughout the school year.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Bachelors Degree (B.A.) required State Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired Previous experience working 1:1 with pediatric or school-aged students is highly valued Ability to adapt lessons and instructional materials to meet unique learning needs Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset for working with families, teachers, and support staff Willingness to be onsite Monday through Friday in a school-based setting
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized instruction focused on the educational and developmental needs of a student who is visually impaired Create and adapt materials into accessible formats, utilizing braille, large print, or assistive technology Actively participate in IEP development, goal tracking, and progress reporting Work closely with educational teams to ensure an inclusive and supportive learning environment Monitor and record students progress, making instructional adjustments as necessary
