Public Schools, part of KIPP North Carolina, seeks an Exceptional Children Self Contained Teacher to provide high-quality instruction for students with disabilities in a self-contained setting. You will design standards-aligned, IEP-driven lessons; implement individualized behavior supports; and use data to monitor progress and adjust instruction. In this mission-driven, equity-focused K-12 charter network, you'll collaborate with families and support staff, receive ongoing coaching and professional development, and help create an inclusive, rigorous learning environment for all students. Responsibilities Provide daily instruction in a self-contained classroom for Exceptional Children aligned to IEP goals and state standards. Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, ensuring legal compliance and timely progress reporting. Use data to plan, differentiate, and adjust instruction to meet diverse academic and behavioral needs. Implement positive behavior supports, de-escalation strategies, and individualized behavior plans. Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff to coordinate services. Communicate regularly with families about student progress, goals, and strategies for support at home. Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and other compliance-related processes. Maintain accurate records, documentation, and student data in required systems. Engage in ongoing professional development, coaching, and feedback cycles.
