Approximately 7 students Position Overview Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students in a K 8 educational setting in Kenansville, North Carolina . This position will primarily serve students in the K 3 grade range and focuses on instruction aligned with North Carolina Extended Content Standards . With a current caseload of approximately 7 students , this opportunity allows for highly individualized instruction and a strong focus on each student's unique academic and developmental needs. Key Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction aligned with North Carolina Extended Content Standards . Develop and implement individualized instruction based on student needs and IEP goals. Provide instruction primarily to students in grades K 3 , with responsibilities extending through K 8. Monitor and document student progress through ongoing assessment and data collection. Implement appropriate accommodations, modifications, and instructional strategies. Develop and maintain IEP documentation in accordance with district requirements. Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families. Support students' academic, behavioral, social, and developmental needs. Create a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment. Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, professional development, and other school activities as needed. Qualifications Valid North Carolina Special Education/Exceptional Children teaching license or eligibility. Experience working with students with significant support needs is a plus. Familiarity with Extended Content Standards is a plus. Experience working with elementary-aged students is a plus. Strong classroom management and individualized instructional skills. Ability to develop and implement effective IEP-based instruction. Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
