9667354-27284 Job Description Create a meaningful impact by providing specialized support as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist within a dynamic K-12 school district setting. This contract-based role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about empowering deaf and hard of hearing students to achieve academic and personal growth. Serving a diverse student population across multiple campuses, you'll work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and families to ensure every student receives the accommodation and guidance they need.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) Previous experience supporting K-12 students in educational environments Strong knowledge of inclusive instructional strategies and assistive communication technologies Comfortable traveling between school sites as an itinerant specialist Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student needs
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and support to deaf and hard of hearing students district wide Collaborate with general education teachers and school staff to adapt curriculum and assessments Advocate for students' communication, social, and academic needs Conduct evaluations and contribute to IEP meetings, ensuring compliance and best practices Offer training, resources, and consultation to staff regarding effective strategies and technology use Foster a supportive and accessible learning environment across all assigned schools This rewarding opportunity allows you to interact with students of varying ages and backgrounds while maintaining a flexible, engaging schedule as you travel to different schools within the district.
