This contract position, conveniently located near Marion, NC, offers the opportunity to work across both elementary and middle school settings, each with supportive teams and manageable caseloads.

Qualifications:

Valid teaching certification in Special Education Previous experience in a school setting preferred, especially with elementary and middle school-age students Comfortable providing toileting assistance as needed Strong communication and teamwork skills Compassionate approach and commitment to fostering a positive learning environment

Role Highlights & Responsibilities:

Elementary Classroom:

Lead a class of six students, each with unique abilities and mild behavioral needs, supported by a teaching assistant and a behavior technician. No feeding assistance required; some toileting assistance necessary.

Middle School Classroom:

Oversee a classroom of eleven students, including one student with a feeding tube and several students who require toileting support. You'll collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary support team: one teacher, three full-time teaching assistants, and a dedicated 1:1 aide. Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet the individual needs of students, incorporating IEP goals and innovative teaching strategies Foster a safe, welcoming classroom culture that champions inclusion and respect Collaborate with classroom assistants, behavior technicians, and other educators to maximize student engagement and learning outcomes Maintain detailed documentation of student progress and communications with families and colleagues Share your passion for teaching and make a difference in students' lives through individualized support, engaging instruction, and strong collaboration with a caring school community.
