9662836-27563 Job Description Take on a rewarding, full-time opportunity as a Special Education Teacher dedicated to supporting students in middle and elementary school settings. This contract position runs from as soon as possible until June 4, 2027, providing stability and consistency for both you and your students. You will be working standard school hours, Monday through Friday, from 7:15am to 3:15pm, allowing you to maintain a predictable schedule. In this role, youll be responsible for a caseload at the middle school level in a self-contained, non-severe program, as well as serving as an Elementary Resource Teacher for grades K-5. Your expertise and commitment will foster an inclusive learning environment and empower students to reach their full potential.
Desired Qualifications:
Active Special Education Teacher certification appropriate for the state of North Carolina. Prior experience in self-contained or resource special education classrooms, particularly with elementary or middle school students. Strong skills in creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs. Effective communication and collaboration abilities, working closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families. Compassion, patience, and a genuine commitment to student growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide instruction and support to students in a self-contained and resource classroom setting. Develop and update IEPs in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Adapt lesson plans and instructional materials for students unique needs. Maintain positive and productive classroom management.
