Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact by supporting students with special needs in contract teaching roles located just north of Wilmington, NC.

Two exciting opportunities are available:

Resource Special Education Teacher (elementary level), and Self-Contained/Adaptive Special Education Teacher (middle school level). Work alongside dedicated educators in settings that value inclusion and individualized support. Candidates from out of state are welcome—virtual interviews ensure a smooth process.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

Valid Special Education teaching license (or eligibility for North Carolina licensure) Experience working in resource or self-contained/adaptive settings Strong classroom management and differentiation skills Ability to develop and implement IEPs and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive environment for all learners Excellent communication and advocacy abilities Flexibility and adaptability to meet diverse student needs

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver individualized and small-group instruction tailored to each student's IEP Track progress, maintain documentation, and participate in IEP meetings Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families Create engaging classroom environments, promoting growth and independence Implement behavioral interventions and support strategies as needed Foster open communication with parents and guardians Manage classroom materials and adapt lessons for a range of learning needs Both contract positions offer a rewarding chance to make a direct difference in students' lives while gaining valuable experience in North Carolina schools.
