Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Empower students by making a significant impact as an onsite educator for learners with visual impairments. This contract opportunity offers a chance to support 20-23 students with diverse needs while working closely with school staff to foster independence and academic growth. The assignment is full-time, spanning 37.5 hours per week through May 2027.

Key Qualifications:

Active North Carolina licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (NC TVI certificate required) Experience or specialized training teaching students with visual impairments in a school setting Ability to adapt instructional materials for accessibility Skilled collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including special education staff and families Strong organizational and documentation abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide individualized and group instruction to students with visual impairments, addressing their academic and functional needs Conduct assessments to determine student strengths, needs, and required accommodations Develop and implement educational plans in collaboration with IEP teams Consult with regular education teachers to ensure accessibility and inclusion Track student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in meetings as needed Utilize a variety of assistive technologies and low vision devices This assignment is 100% onsite, enabling you to work face-to-face with students and staff every day.
