Job Description

Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired for the entire 20262027 school year. This contract opportunity offers full-time hours and the chance to work with a diverse caseload spanning elementary, middle, and high school levels. You'll collaborate with educational teams and participate in key meetings, all while utilizing your specialized skills to foster student independence and academic achievement.
Key Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (VI Teacher) Previous experience working with students who are visually impaired preferred Familiarity with IEP development and implementing individualized instructional strategies Strong communication and collaboration abilities Comfortable conducting both formal and informal assessments Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet district and student-specific requirements
Responsibilities Include:
Instructing students with visual impairments using adapted curriculum and materials Developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized education plans (IEPs) Assessing student progress and adjusting approaches to maximize growth and learning Preparing detailed reports documenting student achievement Attending and actively participating in ARD meetings throughout the school year Collaborating with teachers, staff, and families to support student success This full-time contract runs from August 10, 2026, through May 27, 2027, and covers standard school hours Monday through Friday, totaling 37.5 hours per week.
