Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Empower students with diverse needs and make a meaningful impact in a dynamic educational setting as a dedicated Special Education Teacher. This full-time, contract opportunity is located in the vibrant Thomasville, NC area and offers 37.5 hours per week within supportive school environments. You'll inspire and guide students with exceptionalities, fostering both academic and personal growth.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification in Special Education (current and in good standing) Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Strong understanding of various learning disabilities and behavioral interventions Excellent communication skills for collaborating with faculty, families, and support staff Flexibility, patience, and a student-centered approach to education
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver engaging, tailored lesson plans to meet students' unique educational needs Develop, update, and manage IEPs in compliance with all applicable laws and guidelines Monitor student progress, adapting instructional strategies as needed to promote success Maintain open, constructive communication with parents, caregivers, and team members Participate in IEP meetings and other required school functions Create an inclusive classroom environment that celebrates each student's abilities This role provides the chance to build meaningful relationships and positively impact student outcomes daily in a collaborative school community.
